Dr Jo Moriarty

Senior Research Fellow, NIHR Health & Social Care Workforce Research Unit, Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy

Jo joined King's in 2002 from the National Institute of Social Work. As her publications record illustrates, her research activities span a number of areas. These include leading research studies on workforce recruitment and retention, education and training, especially social work education, support for family carers, dementia, service user involvement, ethnicity and ageing.

Jo is particularly interested in the translation of research into practice. As well authoring resources aimed at summarising research findings for practitioners, Jo blogs regularly, aiming to critically appraise recent social care findings in an accessible way.

She is currently playing a major role on a variety of Unit projects that draw on her expertise, including work on hospital social work, educational funding, the Longitudinal Care Work Study and the continued evaluation of the MTM Signs of Safety approach.
