Big Picture Ethics: Understanding Research Ethics Procedures in Practice

We host bimonthly seminars for people who want to step back from individual applications and think more broadly about how ethical procedures, review processes, and governance systems operate in practice. These sessions explore the underlying values, structures, assumptions, tensions, and real-world consequences that shape ethical decision-making, including how consent, risk, “vulnerability”, payment, recognition of lived experience, cross-cultural practice, ownership, power, and accountability are understood.
