QSIG Midday Talk: Qualitative Secondary Analysis - learning curve and early findings

10 Jan 2022, 12:00 to 13:00
Online - Zoom

Annie’s research is focused around the themes of precarious employment, welfare benefits and their relationships with mental health. Annie is currently conducting a qualitative secondary analysis (QSA) using the archive of the Welfare Conditionality project, which is managed by the Timescapes Archive at the University of Leeds. The analysis looks at benefit claimants' use of language and explanatory frameworks when describing their lived experiences of mental health problems. This session will focus mainly on the experience of doing QSA for the first time - the learning curve, positives and pitfalls - but also touch on the emerging findings of the analysis, for those interested in the substantive topic.
